We all go through times when we feel worried, confused or down. But, when it starts to feel difficult to do everyday things it could mean we need some support. The important thing is not to try to cope on your own.

What is Counselling?

Counselling is not about giving advice but instead gives you the opportunity to talk about everything that is important to you, whatever that is. I will listen to you, and will try to understand your feelings, your thoughts and your situation. I will not judge you, no you can talk about anything in our session nothing is off limits.

Counselling is ‘your space’ sometimes, I will use different tools using like the arts, to help you explore different options and strategies.

Counselling is delivered with complete confidentiality, nothing of what you say will be disclosed to anyone else, except when I’m concerned about your safety then I will talk to you about next steps we need to take.

Your first session;

The first session can be scary. You are talking to a stranger about things you may not have shared before or struggling to understand. I will do all I can to make you comfortable. We will spend time discussing your expectations and sharing what sessions will look like. Together we can plan your sessions, identify goals and think about the changes you want to make. There will not be any pressure to share anything you are not ready to. This is your journey, your space. In fact the first session is great opportunity for you to quiz me!

It’s important to remember that there is no ‘right’ way to experience counselling. Some weeks you may not want to talk, that’s okay, we may listen to music or try some relaxation techniques, it is about what feels right for you, in that moment!

If you feel this is something that would be good for you please do talk this through with an adult you can trust. To make a start on your journey head over to the page:
